2019 Australian macadamia industry NURSERY WORKSHOPS

Following on from the outstanding success of the first ever macadamia production nursery events in Queensland in 2018, the AMS will host 3 macadamia nursery events in March 2019. There will be two workshops for growers and one workshop for nursery operators. But get in quick because numbers are limited!

SCHEDULE AND SPEAKERS

1-day nursery workshops for growers

The 1-day workshops will predominantly be consultative in nature with plenty of opportunity for delegates to provide input into the new nursery standards, as well as discuss ideas and ask questions in an open forum.

Growers will receive the latest info and knowledge on:

  • The macadamia industry’s newly drafted nursery standards, and an opportunity to provide input into the standards
  • Establishment essentials including:
  • Site preparation
  • Nursery stock selection
  • Young tree preparation & management
  • Premium potting medium selection & management
  • Industry trends & grower requirements
  • New research from Plant & Food Health Australia
  • Tree samples available to view
  • Open forum

Who should attend?

  • Growers who are considering or about to establish a new orchard
  • Growers who are rejuvenating older orchards (and replacing old trees with newer varieties).

These workshops are open to Australian macadamia levy payers and AMS members. To join the AMS, click here or phone 1800 262 426.
