THIS EVENT IS DESIGNED FOR ATTENDANCE BY COMMERCIAL MACADAMIA NURSERIES.

Join the AMS, in partnership with Nursery and Garden Industry Australia, for a 2 day macadamia production nursery workshop from 3 to 4 September 2018 in Hervey Bay and surrounding areas.

High quality nursery trees are essential for productive macadamia orchards and production nursery skills, from propagation to delivery, are highly specialised. With the rapidly growing demand for macadamia trees, this 2 day workshop is essential for all nursery owners and managers. The workshop will address all aspects of macadamia nursery operation including:

• Growing media properties and management
• Production nursery standards and hygiene
• Irrigation design and layout
• Rootstock and scion wood selection
• Grafting techniques
• Nursery tree training and orchard preparation
• Pest and disease management 

The workshop will include presentations from NGIA professionals, irrigation experts, macadamia orchard establishment consultants and integrated pest management specialists.  These will be delivered alongside field visits to a successful production citrus nursery and several macadamia plantings.
