AMS
members, levy payers and industry representatives,
By 2030
the Australian macadamia industry will have average productivity of 6 tonnes
inshell per hectare across 35,000 hectares producing 200,000 tonnes inshell (@
10% moisture).
Sound
unbelievable? Well, so did the ‘2 Tonne Club’
(2 tonnes of saleable kernel per hectare) when it was first proposed by the AMS
in 2014. Now there are a number of
growers consistently reaching this mark.
This is the
goal set out in the new 2030 strategic plan developed by your Society. Now we would like your help in determining
what priorities and actions we need to implement to give us the best chance of
reaching it.
The 2nd
AMS Future Forum will be held on 13 November at the Novotel Brisbane
Airport. The forum will be held immediately following the AMS AGM which begins at 10am at the same venue.
Come along
and join members of the board, senior staff, the Marketing Committee, the
Australian Macadamia Handlers Association, the Strategic Investment Advisory
Panel and other key industry stakeholders in a discussion about:
·
the research and broader industry development
necessary to reach these ambitious production targets and
·
the global marketing program required to drive
demand for these volumes at prices not too dissimilar to the current healthy
levels.
